Dear ADENA Partners, this time we would like to highlight the use of AREC systems for live event production. Our partner in Kazakhstan, STEPLine, used different elements of AREC Media Capture System to capture audio, video, and record presentations during their annual partner conference. Read more about the technology from our side and the event below.

STEPLine is a professional AV distributor that represents a variety of brands in Kazakhstan, including AREC, Optoma, Audac, Kramer, and others. To highlight the many technologies that their company can deliver, STEPLine hosts annual conferences where integrators, resellers, and other customers of the company can experience these technologies firsthand. For those who were not able to attend in person, STEPLine offers an opportunity to watch every brand presentation through recordings. These recordings are made using AREC systems and rely on a combination of a KL-series Media Station, CI-21H PTZ Network Camera and RADA Duo Wireless Microphones.

AREC KL-series Media Stations are 3 channel recording and streaming devices with automatic backup, defined by their built-in confidence displays and a variety of control options. These characteristics and their portability make them perfect for live event production, as operators and presenters can easily see what they are recording and streaming, as well as adjust that content on the go. The units do not require computers, as they are self-sufficient for all media tasks. The stations support many different video sources, including standard computers, laptops, visualisers, and HDMI and network cameras.

During the conference, STEPLine used an AREC CI-21H PTZ Network Camera to show the presenter on stage. This camera delivers a clear Full HD image and comes with a tally light that turns on when the connected AREC station is recording, letting the presenter know when to start. To capture the presenter's voice, STEPLine relied on RADA Duo Wireless microphones. One set comes with two microphone transmitters and one receiver, letting two speakers present simultaneously. Using UHF to transmit audio signals, these microphones maintain professional audio quality as you can see in the following video.

Dear ADENA Partners, our latest case study features Team Danmark, a government-supported sport organisation. Thanks to the work of our distributor UNIT.DK and system integrator AV Center, the organisation created a streaming studio with AREC devices to share knowledge about their work and initiatives with the wider world.

Team Danmark is a government-funded sport organisation that was created to support Danish athletes in every way possible. For example, it assists with talent development, coordination of academic studies and sport careers, and researching the latest trends and implementing them practically for the benefit of athletes. Some of these activities are carried out online through streamed webinars, which require time, effort, and most importantly, third-party operators to set up. To ensure that the organisation can stream whenever it desires, and can easily produce high-quality videos on their own, Team Danmark requested our partners to design a professional, yet simple-to-use streaming studio.

UNIT and AV Center experts did just that, and installed an AREC LS-860 Media Station. The 4-channel model allows Team Danmark to record and stream up to 4 video sources in Full HD@60fps to two streaming platforms simultaneously, over-achieving the quality requirements of the organisation. The station serves as a central unit to which every other AV device in the room is connected. Multiple PTZ cameras, Sennheiser ceiling microphone system, and a computer running Teams conferencing software for bringing in remote participants are all mixed together with the organisation’s logos and backgrounds by the LS-860 and presented in customisable layouts. This combined audio and video output is returned to Teams as a webcam using the RADA HDMI to USB Bridge, giving the Teams attendees and streaming platform audience the same viewing experience.

What makes this setup easy to use is how well AREC integrates with various control options. In Team Danmark’s case, all the key functions that their employees require are displayed on a small touch tablet from a control system. Through a simple click, they can control the cameras’ PTZ positions, recording and streaming layouts, graphics, audio, and more. This means that the presenters can effectively manage the whole recording and streaming process themselves and fully focus on their tasks without a cameraman.

With their new streaming studio, Team Danmark is now able to deliver higher-quality webinars at will. Are you working on similar requests? Let us know at www.a-dena.com and we will be happy to discuss your project requirements.

Dear ADENA Partners, this time we would like to share a rental case study. Using our complete Media Capture System, drummers like Lieh Lin are able to record their sessions and use them for self-training, discussion, and other purposes.

Before he started using AREC, Lieh wasn’t able to properly record his drumming sessions. Preparation could take more than half an hour every time, and post-editing required on every video much longer. That was because of several reasons - for example, video coming from different cameras was not premixed into layouts, and the audio mixer was recorded separately and needed to be mixed with video feeds. It is thus understandable why Lieh was not keen on recording every time. Nonetheless, reviewing recordings is an extremely important and useful learning method, and thus Lieh looked for options to streamline his production.

Fortunately for him, all of his problems were easily solved by AREC. Using a KL-3T Media Station, Lieh mixed two PTZ network cameras CI-T10 and A-TC02 OnyxCam with musical notes from his computer. The Media Station made sure that audio and video were recorded simultaneously, mixed, and matched in every original video source as well, significantly reducing the drummer’s post-editing workload. The station proved convenient for the drummer for other reasons too - it gave him plenty of customisable layout options to arrange his cameras and notes in the video, add his name and title of the song, and control it all through mobile phone, inbuilt touchscreen, and web interface. You can see some of the warmups he did in the two videos below.
