ADENA and Ceconet (Official AREC Distributor in Switzerland) would like to share the first case study of 2020 - La Haute école de santé Fribourg (Heds FR). In this prestigious Swiss school, aspiring students receive high-class professional education and become exceptional doctors. And since only the best is accepted in Switzerland, it is natural that the school went for AREC solution to make their education even more effective.

One of the biggest problems that new doctors are experiencing is just how different textbook material and actual clinical cases are. When the price of a mistake is a person’s life, there is no room for doubt. As a result, universities and hospitals worldwide adopt various tactics to make sure that mistakes are prevented, and one of the most effective tactics is recording. Videos can be archived for review on-demand and live-streamed to a class of students. The use of recording makes sure that doctors come to their work already having watched hours and hours of real operations and knowing how to proceed in arising situations.

Heds FR decided to try recording to improve their students’ performance, and it brought immediate results. A combination of KL-3W, two Network Cameras CI-218, Auto-Tracking Network Camera CI-T21H and a dedicated simulation room, where livestream from the station can be observed, made sure that every operation and procedure is recorded in detail and is available for review. Per the words of Mariateresa De Vito Woods, Lecturer in Heds FR: “The simulation provides students with confidence in performing medical procedures and gives them a taste of experience of working in a real situation”. AREC systems were praised not only for their features, but also for reliability and pleasant user experience. As François Magnin, Simulation Centre Manager, said: “The quality of AREC Systems has convinced us. Similarly, collaboration with Groupe E Connect and Ceconet was excellent".

Heds FR students are already benefiting from AREC recording abilities, and satisfaction rises across the board. Do you have a potential project in healthcare or education? Visit www.a-dena.com and we can help you make it happen together.

In news from Scandinavia, Austman Consulting (Distributor in Sweden) attends “Yrkeshögskolan Väst”, a high-tech education solutions show where AREC systems were presented to more than 80 education organisations. Among the attendees were some of the major Swedish universities, schools, and education centres, as well as other important contacts in education sphere of Sweden. Conferences like these demonstrate the ever-increasing need in professional and easy-to-use devices for lecture capture, and AREC is ready to please.

Austman Consulting organised a booth for all participants to visit and experience AREC Media Capture System. Among the devices shown were KL-3W, a 3 channel Media Station for simultaneous recording and streaming to two platforms, and also CI-218 on TP-100 - an 18x optical zoom network camera on an Auto-Tracking Scanner for professional capture of speaker and audience alike. AREC solutions are essential to have in education, since they are easy to use and make e-learning easily accessible to all. AREC solutions can also be automated via Scheduler, so that the system works only according to your plan. It improves user experience for both lecturers and students, since they do not need to approach the solutions at all.

With the conference end, attendees have much to think about, but can now see a clear way forward with AREC Media Capture System. Do you also have a project or task, or would like to know more about how our solutions can help? ADENA Limited together with Prase Media Technologies would like to share this new case study with you. The University of Florence is an important and influential centre for research and higher training in Italy, with 1,800 lecturers and internal research staff, 1,600 technical and administrative staff, and over 1,600 research assistants and doctoral students. The University of Florence is constantly investing in improving their services, not only from the point of view of teaching, but also from the innovation point of view by supplying the classrooms with cutting-edge Audio-Visual technology. Technological redevelopment of the first 30 classrooms began in 2018 as part of a project involving 100 teaching environments located throughout Florence.

Project design was made by Multimedia Technology team, who analysed the educational needs of the schools and teaching environments and provided a tailored solution to each one of them. The solution includes “Epson laser projection”, “Shure microphones”, “SoundTube/Tannoy sound distribution” and “AREC Media Capture System”.

AREC Media Capture System plays an integral part in this project. Lectures, events and conferences rely on Full-HD synchronized multi-source recording from 2 HDMI / VGA and IP sources of the AREC MS-650 Media Station, flanked by the CI-218 Network Camera, and driven by the TP-100 Auto-Tracking System.

According to Guido Guidi, head of the Multimedia Laboratory, AREC Media Capture Systems have already proved their worth during the previous two events held at the University of Florence – Lego Robotics Competition and the Open Day. AREC technology guarantees smooth operation within university's environment, and allows institutions to considerably increase the quality of education as perceived by students and teachers. "We chose AREC Media Station, because in addition to representing the state of the art of Media Capture solutions, it is a secure, reliable, and above all, scalable technology. These are essential characteristics for a great university such as the University of Florence", concluded Guido Guidi.
