Dear ADENA Partners, this time we have a corporate case study from Chile. Our partners Tecso and System Integrator Adaptor created a professional yet simple solution for a training room, combining AREC auto-tracking with Shure ceiling microphones. Find out how this solution works below.

The training room has two distinct areas: one for the presenter and another for attendees, both covered by Shure MXA ceiling microphone systems. Training sessions are held in multiple rooms in other locations at the same time through video conferencing. Given the size and layout of the room, it is difficult to show every attendee and the presenter with a single camera. Therefore, the company decided to enhance the room with professional AV technology. Thanks to the efforts of our partners, the company settled on AREC DS-4CU Speaker Tracking Station and CI-21H PTZ cameras to automatically track and show active speakers.

The presenter’s area is covered by one CI-21H and MXA 710, whereas the other CI-21H and MXA 920 are covering the attendee area. Both cameras are connected to the DS-4CU, and they switch according to the active microphone lobe on Shure. If it is the presenter speaking, then the system displays only the CI-21H aimed at them. If someone from the audience starts talking, the system displays that audience member. The switching is fully automatic and swift, ensuring that the active speaker is always visible, and the users don’t need to press any buttons to make the system work. Thanks to the latest firmware update of the station, it is now possible to switch between two MXA systems, and a single DS-4CU can accommodate up to 4 MXA systems simultaneously (read more about it here). The DS-4CU’s video output is converted into USB and is sent into a Teams video conferencing app as a webcam for other meeting rooms to see.

The company is very satisfied with their new high-tech training room and is planning to set up this solution in more rooms in the future. Is your conferencing room lacking tracking for speakers? Let us know at www.a-dena.com, and we will find the right solution for you.

Dear ADENA Partners, this time we would like to share a rental case study. Using our complete Media Capture System, drummers like Lieh Lin are able to record their sessions and use them for self-training, discussion, and other purposes.

Before he started using AREC, Lieh wasn’t able to properly record his drumming sessions. Preparation could take more than half an hour every time, and post-editing required on every video much longer. That was because of several reasons - for example, video coming from different cameras was not premixed into layouts, and the audio mixer was recorded separately and needed to be mixed with video feeds. It is thus understandable why Lieh was not keen on recording every time. Nonetheless, reviewing recordings is an extremely important and useful learning method, and thus Lieh looked for options to streamline his production.

Fortunately for him, all of his problems were easily solved by AREC. Using a KL-3T Media Station, Lieh mixed two PTZ network cameras CI-T10 and A-TC02 OnyxCam with musical notes from his computer. The Media Station made sure that audio and video were recorded simultaneously, mixed, and matched in every original video source as well, significantly reducing the drummer’s post-editing workload. The station proved convenient for the drummer for other reasons too - it gave him plenty of customisable layout options to arrange his cameras and notes in the video, add his name and title of the song, and control it all through mobile phone, inbuilt touchscreen, and web interface. You can see some of the warmups he did in the two videos below.

Dear ADENA Partners, this time we have a healthcare case study from Italy. Thanks to the efforts of our distributor Prase Media Technologies and system integrator Engineering Solutions S.r.l., a private hospital started using the AREC Media Capture System for internal and external meetings and training.

This hospital is located in the capital of Italy, Rome, and is an entirely private institution. It is a leader in healthcare and technological innovation research, and offers high-level bespoke services, therapy and programmes for its patients. The hospital has multiple centres of excellence for different medical areas, including plastic and robotic surgery, endometriosis treatment, breast surgery, hand and upper limb rehabilitation, and spine and sports traumatology among others. When housing this many disciplines and experts, communication and training become paramount for success, and thus the hospital decided to create a conference and training room that would fully meet its needs.

In the picturesque rooftop conference room, our partners built a complete solution for internal and external meetings and training. AREC LS-2 Media Station is used to combine images coming from two CI-21H PTZ network cameras. The station is very useful in this scenario since it is used as a video mixer with customisable layouts, giving the staff the ability to present computer content with cameras, only cameras, use picture-in-picture, side-by-side, and other modes, and output a different layout on the second display. What’s more, AREC cameras come with inbuilt tally lights that turn on when recording is in progress, immediately notifying all attendees. The whole system is controlled via a small touchscreen control panel and gives users the ability to start recording, streaming, and to change everything about their image presentation in a matter of one click. The conference room is connected to two surgery rooms thanks to Atlona AV over IP solutions, whereas Shure, Biamp, and Renkus-Heinz products are used for audio processing and control.

With the newly designed and technologically advanced conference room, meeting and training have never been easier for the hospital. Do you have a similar project idea in mind? Contact us at www.a-dena.com and we will be happy to discuss it with you and find the right solution together.
