Dear ADENA Partners, we are happy to announce the launch of our new device, KS-CC1, Close Captions Station. It can transcribe and translate speech from a wide variety of languages and output it as a textual overlay live. The station is also saving transcribed and translated text along with the mixed audio and video, so users can edit any inaccuracies present and download the captions as SRT text files. KS-CC1 is a fully automatic, AI-based device relying on Google API to provide its core functionality, and thus it ensures a high transcription and translation accuracy, similar to that of Google Translate.

KS-CC1 has a number of principal applications. For example, it can help organizations, companies, universities, and others involve deaf audience members by providing close captions of spoken material. Since the station supports simultaneous translation and transcription, it can also be used for multilingual audiences. It can transcribe the spoken language and translate it to two different languages at the same time. Users that connect to the station via displayed QR codes can then follow the event in a language of their choice.

Lastly, KS-CC1 is highly cost-effective when compared to traditional transcription and live interpretation. All of the above qualities make it a perfect companion for all AREC Media Station installations, and specifically for the DS-4CU Speaker Tracking Station. The latter combination will not only enable organizations to track the speakers, but also caption and translate them, without human involvement.

KS-CC1 is already available. Please feel free to contact us at a-dena.com to receive a free demonstration or to learn more about it.

AREC developed multiple Auto-Tracking products relying on different technologies, including IR and microphone tracking. While the former is best at tracking single moving targets, the latter excels when you need to track multiple seating targets. The two technologies can be used together to achieve spectacular results. For example, you may be building a conference room and you need to track seated participants and the lead presenter, who may be at times seated and at times walking or presenting from a board. DS-4CU in this case will track any of the seated participants via integrated microphone systems, such as the recently integrated Televic Confidea, Shure MXA series, or other brands. You can then use CI-T21H or CI-T10 to track the lead presenter when they start moving. And thanks to the introduction of ITT technology (click here if you don’t know about it), you can track another attendee the same way with another IR tracking camera. Thus, you can build this kind of conference room with just three devices - a DS-4CU, a CI-T21H/T-10 camera, and a microphone system. You can also add more cameras if you wish - DS-4CU supports up to 4 network cameras that work with either ONVIF profile S or VISCA over IP.

Dear ADENA Partners, this time we would like to share a case study about another Erasmus+ project, this time from Siguldas State Gymnasium in Latvia, completed with Sensuslab (AREC Distributor in Latvia). Continue reading to find out how AREC solutions for speaker tracking, recording, streaming, and conferencing were instrumental in this educational project.

Siguldas State Gymnasium is one of the best and most prestigious schools in Latvia and the wider region, well-known for its brilliant graduates. It sets an example for all other schools by constantly developing new teaching methodologies for mathematics, languages, natural and social sciences. Gymnasium is able to accomplish this due to a number of factors, such as top of the line teaching staff, but also by utilising cutting edge AV technology to record and stream their activities. For these tasks, they rely on AREC.

In particular, the Methodological Center of Mathematics and Informatics recently upgraded one of their rooms. They needed a solution that could track active speakers in their auditorium, and also record, stream, and have conference capabilities. To achieve this task in the most cost-effective manner, a set of DS-4CU Speaker Tracking Station with Bosch CCS 1000 D Microphone System, CI-21H PTZ Network Cameras, LS-300 Media Station and RADA Bridge was implemented. Automatic speaker tracking by DS-4CU greatly reduced costs that normally come with creating a system capable of such tasks, and LS-300 made certain that all sources - DS-4CU, computer, and a general view camera - are always recorded and streamed in a preferred layout. FInally, RADA Bridge is used to take the combined image and output it in a video conference application, where it is displayed as a webcam and used as a microphone.

With their new upgraded auditorium, the Methodological Center in Siguldas State Gymnasium can hold visually striking online meetings and save them for future use. If you would like to know more about similar projects, or how AREC devices can be used for your needs, please contact us at www.a-dena.com and we will be happy to help you.
