Dear ADENA Partners, this time we would like to highlight a case study from a museum in Poland. Thanks to the work of our partners Polixel and Kontel, the Museum of Cursed Soldiers and Political Prisoners of the Polish People’s Republic chose AREC LS-860 and products from Yamaha, Clearone, Extron, NEC, Sennheiser, and other brands to stream their events and exhibitions.

The former prison-turned museum holds a lot of history. Originally constructed as a correctional facility for criminals, it soon expanded to hold political prisoners. Many of the prisoners perished as the treatment standards fell through the early 20th century, and even more did during the brutal years of the Second World War and its aftermath. Thus, there is a lot of history to talk about and research in the grounds of this museum, and, as the museum representatives themselves acknowledge, a lot of information about the victims of this place is still missing and being uncovered. To better serve its educational role, the museum decided to invest into professional audio-visual equipment that would enable it to livestream excursions and other events, and thanks to our partners Polixel and Kontel, they chose AREC LS-860.

AREC LS-860 is a four-channel Media Station that can combine audio and video inputs from different sources, such as computers, cameras, and network streams, and unite them into preconfigured and user-defined layouts together with backgrounds and overlay images. This mixed video can then be recorded and streamed to different platforms via RTMP/RTMPS, such as YouTube, Facebook, and others. One of the features that makes AREC special is that each individual video source is also simultaneously recorded for post-editing purposes. LS-860 enhances this feature by allowing the user to associate a particular audio channel with a specific video channel while retaining the option to mix all audio channels with all video channels. In the museum, our Media Station is used with an Extron control system, which makes it possible to control all of the device’s necessary features and arrange them in custom orders. The loop-through output of the Media Station, typically used to display the computer source, is sent to a NEC projector, thereby sharing the content with the entire room. Finally, a Yamaha tabletop microphone system is used for seated speakers, supplemented by a combination of Clearone, Sennheiser and Extron systems for different room configurations.

With this advanced system, the museum is fully equipped to further the research into the prison’s history and educate the public. Do you know of similar institutions looking for advanced AV recording and streaming systems? Contact us at www.a-dena.com, and we will be happy to advise.

Dear ADENA Partners, we are excited to present a livestream showcasing a conference commemorating the centenary of Senegal's most prestigious military school. Our valued partner, LCS Technodidac, used the AREC Media Capture System to stream this event on YouTube, sharing this momentous anniversary with a broader audience.

The Military Prytanée of St. Louis is a secondary school under the Ministry of the Armed Forces of Senegal. It is defined by its very tough selection competition, with only 50 students out of 3000 yearly applicants successfully enrolling. Over its century-long history, this institution has produced numerous influential African political figures and military leaders. Notably, it counts among its alumni at least five presidents and several former and current government officials, including Serigne Mbaye Thiam, the Minister of Water and Sanitation of Senegal. At a recent conference organised by the Association of Former Troop Children (known as AET), esteemed speakers like Minister Thiam and history professor Ibrahim Thioub shared their insights. The conference took place at the Museum of Black Civilisations in Dakar, and so to ensure widespread access, it was necessary to livestream it. Supporting the conference with prime technology solutions, LCS Technodidac supplied AREC Media Capture System, bringing the event to YouTube.

The core component of this system was the AREC KL-3T Media Station, a 3-channel model. It seamlessly blended video streams from two RADA A-TC02 OnyxCam network cameras with a presentation from a computer, presenting them in various video layouts. These layouts included overlays such as the AET logo and the conference’s topic, providing a comprehensive visual experience. The KL-3T stood out for its interactive built-in display with GUI control, offering intuitive buttons for operators to easily switch between displaying speakers, presentations, combined speaker-and-presentation views, and other layout variations. What made the KL-3T ideal for this production was its comprehensive functionality. Its display mirrored the video as it appeared on YouTube, allowing operators to monitor all aspects of the production, including the network cameras, from a single location. Operators could even control the PTZ movement of the OnyxCams directly from this interface, ensuring a seamless focus on relevant speakers throughout the event.

The conference garnered significant success and received coverage in numerous news publications, both in Senegal and internationally. Are you seeking solutions to broaden your audience reach? Explore how AREC devices can be of use to you by contacting us at www.a-dena.com.

Dear ADENA Partners, our case study this time focuses on the headquarters of the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC). Completed in collaboration with our distributor Prase and system integrator Tecnovox, this project exemplifies the seamless integration capabilities of the AREC Media Capture System with other leading professional AV brands, including Atlona, Shure, Biamp, and Genelec.

The WBSC functions as the global governing body for baseball and softball, overseeing 191 national federations and numerous associate members across 136 countries worldwide. Responsible for managing international competitions involving national teams, eSports, Olympic Games, and similar events, effective communication with this extensive network of organizations necessitates high-quality conferencing hardware. Hence, the organization recently decided to renovate and enhance their headquarters in Pully, Switzerland. Thanks to our partners' efforts and the features of our products, AREC cameras and tracking solutions were selected to make this upgrade possible.

At the core of the WBSC conference room lies the DS-4CU Speaker Tracking Station. This station, equipped with four channels, is designed to automatically track and display active speakers. It is compatible with AREC and third-party cameras, and supports RTP/RTSP/RTMP network streams, alongside HDMI and VGA as video inputs. Integrated with a number of popular discussion system brands such as Shure, Televic, Bosch, Audio-Technica, and others, this station can efficiently track up to 99 speakers. Each speaker can have unique layouts, overlays, and backgrounds made specifically for them. In the WBSC's case, it operates in conjunction with a Shure push-to-talk discussion system. When a speaker activates the talk button, the station commands the cameras to focus on the speaker's position, adjusting the video layout accordingly to ensure the speaker remains in focus.

For capturing meeting participants, AREC CI-21H PTZ cameras are utilised. These professional network cameras function in Full HD at 60 frames per second and are connected to the DS-4CU via the network. Additionally, they offer HDMI and USB outputs for flexibility. The DS-4CU creates a mixed video output, incorporating speaker titles, logos, and custom backgrounds, and through other brands participating in this installation, sends it into video conferencing applications, effectively becoming a webcam. This ensures that the remote attendees consistently see the active speaker and effortlessly promotes the organisation's branding.

The WBSC’s headquarters are now equipped with user-friendly and efficient conferencing solutions, significantly enhancing the organisation's meeting experiences. Is your company ready for an upgrade? Contact us at www.a-dena.com and discover how AREC solutions can benefit your business.
