Dear ADENA Partners, ISE 2023 successfully concluded and we would like to go through the highlights for those of you who were not able to attend.

We demonstrated several new technologies this time:

  • LS-410 - an upcoming 4-channel model Media Station that supports Dante Audio, NDI-HX, SRT, and USB audio/video sources.

  • ARECare hardware units - three base models with different I/O that support point-to-point video conferencing with annotations, recording, streaming, and automatic backup.

  • SDVoE Transceivers - for matrix, video wall, and digital signage uses with support of up to 4K@60fps and minimal latency over great distances due to SDVoE technology.

  • KS-CC1 Closed Captions Station - compact recording and streaming solution with simultaneous captions and translation into two additional languages.

Apart from these new products, we also showcased the DS-4CU Speaker Tracking Station with a Televic Confidea microphone system, AREC IR auto-tracking cameras CI-T21H and CI-T10, a number of Media Stations - KL-3T, LS-860, LS-110, LS-US2 - and a variety of RADA products, such as the A-BR01 HDMI-to-USB bridge with flawless image transmission, wireless microphone system RADA Duo, as well as conferencing cameras A-VC01 VersaCam and A-TC02 OnyxCam.

We will demonstrate our new products in an upcoming webinar on the 16th of March. Click here to sign up and watch the presentation live on our YouTube channel. And if you would like to have a private demonstration of any of these or other products, simply fill out the contact form here.

LS-860 and LS-US2 have a number of unique features that you may not know about. For example, they can create a special overlay for date and time. This overlay can be configured in a number of ways, including date format, font colour, size, and its position on the screen. The date/time overlay can be used to constantly give a real-time indication of when the recording and streaming is taking place and doesn’t conflict with standard overlays. To enable and configure it, open the “Administrator” web page of your Media Station, proceed to “Video” -> “Themes” and scroll down. You will see a menu like this

Toggle the button and change settings according to your preferences. You can use the Online Director web page to preview changes without leaving your computer. Time displayed is determined by your “Date and Time” system settings, which can be found in “Administrator”->“System”->”System Settings”.

One other feature that you may have skipped is called “Smooth Transitions”. Enabling it allows you to set a fade in-fade out effect when changing layouts. You can determine the length of this effect - from 0.5 to 5 seconds. Transitions, just like other special effects and designs, can be used to enhance the video appearance and make it stand out - therefore, if you haven’t tried this feature yet, give it a go!

Always staying on top of innovative solutions for video streaming, AREC implemented SRT streaming into the top Media Station model, LS-860. This protocol, defined as Secure Reliable Transport, gained popularity due to its low latency, high quality of the video, encryption options, as well as its ability to deliver video even when other protocols would suffer from high packet loss.

SRT on the LS-860 is supported in “Caller” and “Listener” modes and acts as a streamer. In the “Caller” mode, LS-860 can stream via SRT to a player device or platform capable of receiving it, whereas in the “Listener” mode, LS-860 can receive an SRT stream from such player. SRT is practical for users because it doesn’t require complex and costly hardware to run - free-to-use applications from Haivision are available for both iOS and Android that can help you stream on the go. Moreover, SRT-enabled platforms, for example, https://castr.io/, take full advantage of the strong network performance of SRT, its quality, and security while also restreaming to commonplace RTMP platforms, outperforming them in the process. Would you like to try the LS-860 with SRT today? Visit us at a-dena.com and we will be happy to arrange that for you
