Dear ADENA Partners, ISE 2023 successfully concluded and we would like to go through the highlights for those of you who were not able to attend.

We demonstrated several new technologies this time:

  • LS-410 - an upcoming 4-channel model Media Station that supports Dante Audio, NDI-HX, SRT, and USB audio/video sources.

  • ARECare hardware units - three base models with different I/O that support point-to-point video conferencing with annotations, recording, streaming, and automatic backup.

  • SDVoE Transceivers - for matrix, video wall, and digital signage uses with support of up to 4K@60fps and minimal latency over great distances due to SDVoE technology.

  • KS-CC1 Closed Captions Station - compact recording and streaming solution with simultaneous captions and translation into two additional languages.

Apart from these new products, we also showcased the DS-4CU Speaker Tracking Station with a Televic Confidea microphone system, AREC IR auto-tracking cameras CI-T21H and CI-T10, a number of Media Stations - KL-3T, LS-860, LS-110, LS-US2 - and a variety of RADA products, such as the A-BR01 HDMI-to-USB bridge with flawless image transmission, wireless microphone system RADA Duo, as well as conferencing cameras A-VC01 VersaCam and A-TC02 OnyxCam.

We will demonstrate our new products in an upcoming webinar on the 16th of March. Click here to sign up and watch the presentation live on our YouTube channel. And if you would like to have a private demonstration of any of these or other products, simply fill out the contact form here.

In our June ADENA Hack we focused on combining the DS-4CU Speaker Tracking Station with CI-T21H/CI-T10 tracking cameras and regular CI-21H/22H PTZ cameras for capturing and tracking conference room participants. This time, we would like to build on this topic and mention an additional way in which you can add on to these systems.

You can consider using the latest AI Transcription and Translation device, KS-CC1. Its purpose is to add closed captions and translate the speech into two additional languages simultaneously. The connected audio and video source can be recorded and streamed at the same time too. The stream produced by KS-CC1 will contain either the closed captions of the speaker or their translated speech into one of the selected languages - this can be determined on the management page of the station. Furthermore, KS-CC1 can provide a QR code for viewers with mobile devices to scan. Once they scan it, a page will open where they will be able to see and follow the meeting with the text in their language of choice. Lastly, after the recording session is over, it is possible to edit the .srt files for the captioned and translated languages, thus eliminating inaccuracies. Users can upload the final version of the video with embedded subtitles for viewer convenience.

For these reasons, KS-CC1 Closed Captions Station is a perfect add-on to installations with DS-4CU. The latter can provide up to 4 video sources for recording and streaming on KS-CC1, and the microphone congress system used with the DS-4CU will provide audio input to the station. Active speakers tracked by the DS-4CU will be captioned and translated. Thus, with just two devices, you can achieve recording, streaming, tracking, captioning and translation of meetings, debates, and other sorts of events where DS-4CU and KS-CC1 can be used.

Would you like to know more about how else AREC installations can be upgraded? Reach out to us at www.a-dena.com and we will be happy to talk to you about that.

There are two control methods that can be used to add or remove network sources during recording and streaming. One of them is based on RS-232/TCP commands, whereas the other is an application called “Interactive Switch Manager”.

The first method is applicable to all AREC stations - you can download the relevant command list for your station from our website. You can use these commands to program control panels or directly in software tools, such as “Packet Sender”. The second method, “Interactive Switch Manager”, is a convenient and free-to-use application that is fully focused on adding and removing network sources. It supports RTP, RTMP, and RTSP, and can be used with all AREC Media Stations except LS-US2 in its current release.

When you download the app, you will need to edit a file called “source_uni.txt”. Link structure for your video source should be “name, protocol type://address” - for example, CI-T10,rtsp://192.168.0.110/h264. You can add as many sources as you want this way and they can be located within or outside of your network. Once your sources are added, you can run the app by opening “Interactive Switch Manager.exe”. The sources you added in the text file will appear on the left side of the app. On the right side, you will need to enter the Media Station address and login credentials for the “Administrator” page. You can then select which video channel to change and whether to add or remove this network source. Press “Apply” when ready and the source will be changed according to your selections.

You can find more information about this application from its user manual, and if you would like to know more about AREC in general, please contact us at a-dena.com and we will be happy to answer any questions!
