ADENA Hack: How to control AREC Media Stations with USB keyboards.

USB numeric keypads and keyboards are a budget-friendly and easy-to-use control option for all AREC Media Stations. Some models, such as the LS-410, are supplied with AREC USB numeric keypads. They are also available separately for other models. These keypads feature stickers that indicate each button’s function.

However, virtually any standard USB numeric keypad or keyboard, whether wired or wireless, can be used to control AREC Media Stations. With these accessories, users can start recording and streaming, control local display output of the station, adjust volume, and even export the latest recording to a connected flash drive. The following table lists all functions and settings that can be toggled through USB keypads and keyboards:

Note that keyboards without numpads (called “TKL”) can only be used to toggle keyboard-specific functions. However, USB keyboards with numpads (called “Full-size”) can toggle all functions of the above table, with numpad keys functioning as they do on USB numeric keypads.
