Dear ADENA Partners! This month, we are excited to share a case study from the Parliament of Moldova. Thanks to the work of our partner DAAC digital, the Parliament now uses the LS-410 Media Station to record and livestream public hearings and meetings of various parliamentary committees. Find out how our solution has helped improve the viewing experience, reduce costs, and simplify operations in the story below:

The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova is the country's supreme representative and legislative body. It has the power to adopt laws, call referendums, approve domestic and foreign policy directions, and oversee the implementation and approval of the state budget, among many other responsibilities. The Constitution of the Republic of Moldova requires the Parliament to conduct its work publicly. One of the primary ways this is achieved is through livestreaming. Hearings, meetings, and other parliamentary activities can be followed online via the Parliament's social media channels.
However, most of the rooms in the Parliament did not have a dedicated AV production system. The available equipment differed from one room to another: some rooms had only a single wide-angle camera, making it difficult to capture all attendees, while in others, camera crews were responsible for recording and streaming, increasing production costs and introducing the possibility of human error. This complicated the work of parliamentary staff, so a decision was made to improve the situation.
The Parliament started looking for a solution that could improve the viewing experience, simplify and automate the production workflow, and ensure transparency. Our partner, DAAC digital, proposed a solution based on AREC and Taiden technologies. The Parliament chose this solution because it met and exceeded all of the stated goals.
At the core of this solution is the AREC LS-410 Media Station – a four-channel professional recording and streaming system. Like other Media Stations, this model combines the functions of a recorder, streamer, video switcher, and other essential production systems in a single device with a user-friendly interface that can be operated by anyone, even without an IT or AV background. In essence, the Media Station allows users to produce ready-to-share video content. The device mixes connected audio and video sources into a single video, referred to as the mixed video. Using the built-in functions of the device, users can customise and enhance every element of this mixed video by adding graphical effects such as overlays, logos, and backgrounds, using predefined or customisable channel layouts, and switching between them with the press of a single button. The mixed video is recorded to the station's internal storage or connected USB or network storage and livestreamed to any RTMP, RTMPS, or SRT platform, such as YouTube, Facebook, or Vimeo. In addition, the Media Station can also record each video channel individually, preserving the original footage for post-production and other uses.
The LS-410 plays a vital role in the Parliament's meeting room. It captures and mixes video from three Taiden PTZ cameras connected via the network, a matrix switcher connected via HDMI, and the room's audio system into a complete production. This allows parliamentary staff to switch freely between manual and automatic tracking modes. When automatic speaker tracking is required, they simply select a layout that displays the matrix switcher. At all other times, they can choose any of the system's other layouts, including a maximised individual source, picture-in-picture, side-by-side, multiple channels, or a custom layout of their own design. The LS-410 also records all meetings while simultaneously livestreaming them to YouTube and Facebook, both of which are used to share the Parliament's work with the public. Finally, the station's built-in Online Director web interface is used to monitor and control production. It provides all the tools required for live production: displaying the recording and streaming preview, allowing users to start, pause, or stop recording and streaming, quickly modify any element of the video, control the PTZ functions of connected cameras, configure audio, create timestamps, and more. As a result, the LS-410 fulfilled all of the Parliament's objectives for the meeting room.
With the LS-410 in place, the Parliament of Moldova achieved all of the goals set out for its meeting room modernisation. See the solution in action on the Parliament's YouTube channel and Facebook page, or watch one of the Parliament’s streams linked below:
