Last week we described the process of upgrading firmware via web interface. Another method is to upgrade it through a USB flash drive.
In order to do that, rename the firmware file to “arec_fw.img”, put it on a USB flash drive, plug it to the Media Station’s front USB port, and restart the device. Your station will apply the firmware update and provide visual indication of the process.
Power LED will be flashing green and you will see a similar picture on a connected output/inbuilt screen. Upgrading through USB is fast and simple, and allows you to save precious time.
